Artist Statement

My particular art practice is primarily about the beauty of the mundane.  The same sun setting in the same window, another day can be shockingly beautiful.  A disastrous event unfolding in one’s view can be horrifyingly beautiful.  Who knows why things move me to paint them?  What I do know is that I cannot resist a good cloudscape, or tree, or flower–and the ocean isn’t the only beautiful view.  

Life is short, do what you love.  Now.  It is scary, but regret is scarier.  That's it, now you know my guiding principle.
